About

CLIFFORD LEIGH, designer, author, and artist, has had numerous gallery exhibitions in SoHo, and, as “Chief Idea Person” to Pop Artist Mark Kostabi, his work is exhibited in major galleries and museums worldwide. His continuing collaboration with Kostabi most recently produced pieces for an illustrated Book of Genesis and for Pope Benedict XVI. Cliff is also a designer for Evergreene Painting Studios, the world’s largest art and historical restoration firm. His design work can be seen in notablebuildings such as St. Peter’s Church, San Francisco, the Miami City Hall, Grey Towers Historic Preservation, the Allen County Courthouse, and the Meridien Grand Opera House. Cliff is an ordained deacon in the Orthodox Presbyterian Chhurch and lives in New York with his wife and three sons. The Wordsmith, The Kid, and The Electrolux was entirely written and illustrated during his daily threehour train commute. He is currently working on its sequel, Islandship River.

Work Experience

1997 to Present       Evergreene Painting Studios, Inc.         New York, NY

Designer

  • Designed and executed artwork for decorative restoration and large-scale art projects using computers in Macintosh and Windows platforms (i.e. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Painter, Dimensions, Wasatch RIP, FlexiSign), as well as traditional methods.
  • Specialized in designing customized wallcoverings, marrying digital and traditional techniques for the first time, most notably for the restoration of the Grand Opera House in Meridien MS. Operated large-format printers (HP DesignJet 5500, Epson 10600).
  • Design Highlights: Head designer at EPS in the restoration of St. Peter’s Church, San Francisco winning the 2002 California Preservation Foundation Award. Head designer at EPS for the restoration of the Grey Towers National Historic site.
  • Developed a computerized, repeated-use stencil cutting system eliminating the traditional hand-cut technique and greatly reducing production costs.
  • Developed a silk screen production system for customized wall covering artwork.
  • Directed work crews and developed production of artwork on numerous projects in a wide variety of media (i.e. small and large-scale computer design, traditional painting, silk screen, stenciling, etc.)
  • Trained in Flash, Dreamweaver, and Fireworks, as well as Adobe Creative Suite.

Network Administrator

  • Network Administrator of a twenty-five workstation, seven printer Windows 2003 network server. Creation and maintenance of a Macintosh G4 network (four terminals, ethernet, on-line, Epson scanner and printers, Graphtec FC-3100 and Mita Ci7500 connections)
